The screened-in porch will have a view of both our wooded area and the mountains.

Deck off the Den

We will be able to step out of the den, sit on the deck & have a wonderful view of our stream below.  It is so peaceful in our wooded area.

Windows - January 2014

The HURD windows were delivered and Jeff Huddleston, the window company representative, trained the contracting crew in how to properly install them.

Building the Second Floor - January 2014

The holidays, weather and building delays are over and the continuation of building has begun again.

 

The second floor has more room than we anticipated - plenty of space for guests! Two guest rooms with attached bathrooms and a wonderful sitting room at the top of the stairs for very comfy chairs.

        This is the side with the garage & front door - facing our neighbors.

 

 

 This side has the living, dining, kitchen & master bedroom - all facing the Peaks of Otter mountain view.

New Framing Crew.

A new framing crew was brought in to finish up the second floor and roofing system.  Jay's roofing design had everyone very impressed and they needed his help with how to build certain portions of it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- Raising the Walls!! November

 They worked 7 days a week when the weather cooperated to build the wall and flooring system throughout the house.

 

 

 

A metal beam was placed between the basement and first floor.

 

Bill is standing in the den.

 

I'm standing where the bathtub will be placed.  The view from the window overlooks the 5 acres of our wooded area.
