POOL

Get ready to DIVE IN!!!!!!!! 

Gerry and his team from Aquarius Pools arrived and quickly layed out an outline for the pool.

 

They came in, dug the large hole and began to add the cement & sides.

 

 We'll be able to relax in the pool while enjoying our view of the mountains.

 

The pool will be just a step off the deck from the house.

 

 

Will, Rosie, Rosemary, Elijah, Katie,  Hailey and Niyah:  I've already bought fun pool toys for you to use when you come to visit.

Insulation

"Virginia Foam Insulators" arrived with their equipment to blow-in insulation into our outside walls to make the house more energy efficient.  We are also using batts throughout the rest of the house.

 

 

Roof

 

The tiles were delivered & placed on the roof for the guys to begin work.

Conference Time!

This is not a job I would want to tackle! 

The more hands we have, the faster we can get the job done.

Hanging Windows

 We purchased HURD windows.  Because of Jay Hough's architectural design, we have a wonderful mountain view through the Living, Dining, Kitchen, Master bedroom & both guest room windows.

Shower & Bathtubs

YEAH!  My "Soaking Air Bubble Tub" and the shower and tub for the guest rooms arrived.

 

 

Will & Rosie, Rosemary & Elijah, Candace & Hailey, Niyah - When you come to visit, this will be your bathtub!!

Electrical Wiring

Many, many days later, the electrical wiring was completed - up, down & all around!! 

Well Water Pump Control System

 

The well water pump control system, along with other mechanical systems, will be located in the basement in the mechanical room.

 

Screened-In Porch

The screened-in porch will have a view of both our wooded area and the mountains.

Deck off the Den

We will be able to step out of the den, sit on the deck & have a wonderful view of our stream below.  It is so peaceful in our wooded area.

Windows - January 2014

The HURD windows were delivered and Jeff Huddleston, the window company representative, trained the contracting crew in how to properly install them.

Building the Second Floor - January 2014

The holidays, weather and building delays are over and the continuation of building has begun again.

 

The second floor has more room than we anticipated - plenty of space for guests! Two guest rooms with attached bathrooms and a wonderful sitting room at the top of the stairs for very comfy chairs.

        This is the side with the garage & front door - facing our neighbors.

 

 

 This side has the living, dining, kitchen & master bedroom - all facing the Peaks of Otter mountain view.
